Bharat Vikas Parishad, Ganaur, in association with BJS, Delhi, invited SOTTO Haryana & MOHAN Foundation for ‘MOKSH PATH’ Awareness Camp at Nav Jyoti Shiksha Sadan, Ganaur.

  • On September 24, 2023, Bharat Vikas Parishad, Ganaur branch, in association with Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS), Delhi, organized the ‘MOKSH PATH’ Awareness Camp at Nav Jyoti Shiksha Sadan, Khubru, Bhanwar, Ganaur, District Sonipat.

     

    Mr. Suresh Chand Jain, Project Head of BJS MOKSH PATH, and Sandeep Singla, Vice President of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Ganaur branch, invited SOTTO Haryana along with MOHAN Foundation to conduct an awareness session on organ donation.

     

    The programme began with the lamp-lighting ceremony and welcome address by Mr. Rajender Kaushik, Chairman, Bharat Vikas Parishad. He introduced the team to the gathering.

     

    Dr. Narender Bhutani, Chief Secretary of Drishti Sewa Samiti, Sonepat, Mr. Ankit Tyagi Secretary, Mr. Amit Jindal Treasurer, and Mrs. Manisha Jain Women Coordinator of Bharat Vikas Parishad Ganaur branch were also present during the camp.

     

    The audience was addressed and sensitized through a discussion of organ donation's fundamental concepts.

     

    The following were discussed in detail:

    • What is organ donation and who can donate organs?

    • What is living donation & which organs can be donated?

    • What is deceased donation and which organ and tissues can be donated?

    • Difference between coma and brain death.

    • Time factors of organ retrieval as well as transplant.

    • Eye donation.

    • Whom to contact for organ donation?

    • Role of NOTTO, ROTTO, SOTTO, MOHAN Foundation.

    • Myths and facts related to organ donation.

    • Importance of Donor Card.

    • How to for pledge organ donation?

     

    The group was inspired and encouraged to support organ donation after the talk. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

     

    Close to 80 members were sensitized in two batches and 6 individuals filled up the organ donation Form 7 (Organ Pledging Form) of the Transplantation of Human Organs & Tissues Rules, 2014
