

On 15th August 2018, MOHAN Foundation’s Mts. Jigisha Yadav was invited by Mr.Jha (Secretary of the society) to conduct an awareness session on organ donation.
All the members of the society were gathered for Flag hoisting on account of Independence day. Mrs. Jigisha Yadav started explaining on what Organ Donation is, when, who, why and how it can be done? Thereafter, she spoke about what transplantation was and how it can help patients suffering from end-stage organ failure.
She briefly focused on the need for organs, India’s organ donation rate, brain stem death, how to diagnose, certify and who can certify, cornea donation, religious barriers, and myths related to organ donation.She also explained about the Laws and Entity of Maharashtra.
About 30 members attended the program and were distributed information brochures. Questions such as what is Coma and how is it different from brain deathwere asked. Ms. Jigisha Yadav successfully answered all their queries.
