A public awareness session was conducted at Lazer Ken IT Services, Gurgaon on August 04, 2014 by MOHAN Foundation. This session organized by Ms. Rupali Dagat, (Sr. Executive Assistant to the Director) was the last and final session of a total of three sessions conducted for the employees of three different shifts.
Lazer Ken is an international company that majorly deals with the production of metal sheets for behemoth multinational companies like Schneider and Alstorm. Though they are primarily based in Spain, they are spread out in parts of Europe and India as well.
The session was addressed by Dr. Muneet Sahi and she was accompanied by Deepa Anant. There were a total of 16 participants and she started off by asking them if they had any prior information regarding the topic of Brain death and organ donation in general. She delivered a PowerPoint presentation which briefly and concisely explained the various legal terms and conditions
of organ donations, the various types of donations being-live and deceased, the circumstances surrounding Brain death and its certification and the myths that are generally encountered in this field.
The session ended with a few questions from the participants regarding the partnerships that the Foundation has with hospitals and the nature of work that Transplant Coordinators carry out. Dr. Muneet also informed the participants that they were welcome to sign up as volunteers to work with the Organization. Thirteen donor cards were collected by the participants and fliers with FAQs about Organ donations were distributed.
