An organ donation awareness stall was conducted on April 17, 2026 at Orchid Hospital, Lalpur, Ranchi with the objective of sensitising patient attenders about the importance of organ and tissue donation and encouraging them to understand the life-saving impact of donation. The activity witnessed the participation of around 20 patient attenders, who actively engaged throughout the programme.
The awareness stall was facilitated by Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh from MOHAN Foundation, Ranchi. He explained various aspects related to organ and tissue donation in a simple and informative manner, helping participants better understand the significance of donation and transplantation.
During the interaction, Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh discussed important topics such as brain stem death, cardiac death, eligibility criteria for organ donation, donation procedures, and the legal framework related to organ and tissue donation. Special emphasis was given to living organ donation, particularly highlighting how living donors can help save lives through kidney and liver donation.
The stall remained interactive throughout, with participants raising several questions and showing keen interest in understanding the process of donation. One of the queries raised during the session was regarding which organs a living donor can donate. Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh addressed the question with clear explanations and practical examples, helping participants gain better clarity and confidence regarding living organ donation.
The awareness activity helped create meaningful discussions around organ donation and encouraged participants to develop a positive attitude toward the cause. The programme was informative and impactful, contributing to greater awareness and understanding among the attendees.
