Awareness on Organ Donation by MOHAN Foundation at NEINS, Amtali, Bypass Road, West Tripura

  • On November 4, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, Tripura, organized an awareness program on organ donation at the Northeast Institute of Nursing Science (NEINS), Amtali, Bypass Road, West Tripura. The session aimed to educate students and faculty members on the importance of organ donation and inspire them to pledge as organ donors.

     

    The session was conducted by Mr. Vincent Debbarma (Project Lead, Tripura), who discussed the critical shortage of organs, the process of organ donation and transplantation, and the vital role of youth—especially those in the healthcare sector—in promoting this noble cause. He also highlighted the initiatives of MOHAN Foundation and its collaboration with the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO), Tripura, in strengthening both deceased and living donor programs in the state.

     

    Ms. Nipa Modak (Program Executive, Tripura) also addressed the gathering, engaging with students and clarifying their questions related to organ donation, brain death, and donor registration procedures. Informative leaflets on organ donation were distributed among all participants.

     

    Overall, the program was highly informative and inspiring, significantly contributing to spreading awareness and building positive attitudes towards organ donation among future healthcare professionals.

     

    A total of 63 participants (54 students and 9 faculty and non-teaching staff members) attended the session. The participants expressed keen interest and appreciation for this initiative to raise awareness about such an important health issue.
