Awareness on Organ Donation at Reliance JIO, Bangalore

  • On 29th December 2017 MOHAN Foundation, Chennai office was invited by Mr. Naveen Kumar Babu, Network Manager, Reliance JIO, Banashankari Bangalore to conduct an Organ Donation awareness program. This was part of a send-off party for Mr. Yashwanth, Enterprises Manager Bangalore. Mr. Raja, Transplant Coordinator represented MOHAN Foundation.

    Green ribbons were given to all the staff to show their support for Organ Donation. Mr. Prasanth Kadakol, JIO Centre Manager, Bangalore welcomed MOHAN Foundation. Mr. Raja started the session by playing videos on Organ Donation. He continued the session by giving a small introduction on MOHAN Foundation, Organ Donation, and types of donors, penalties, brain death and importance of Donor Card.

    Staff members asked many questions and few are as follows

    1. Is there any benefit for MOHAN Foundation if a person gets registered for organ donation?
    2. If a person is willing to donate his organs but his family member needs an organ,  will he get preference?
    3. How are the organs distributed?
    4. Is it necessary to donate organs if a person gets registered?

    There were 45 staff and 32 registered for organ donation and received a donor card. Mr. Yashwanth, Enterprises Manager thanked his colleagues for organising an awareness program by MOHAN Foundation. Mr. Sarath, Mobility Sales Manager, advised staff members to keep good health at all times as they are registered for organ donation, the organ has to be in good condition. Mr. Anand, Customer Service Manager gave the vote of thanks.
