On August 28, 2025 an awareness on organ donation and transplantation was organized to the students of the National Service Scheme (NSS) of MGR Janaki College of Arts and Science.
The session commenced with a welcome note from the NSS students, and Dr Banu Rekha. C, NSS Program Officer welcomed the speakers Mr. Ganesh, Senior Project Executive. The talk commenced with Mr Ganesh Asking about the opinion of the students on organ donation.
Mr Ganesh then spoke about the concept of organ donation, brain death, time factor, how to register as recipient and how to find a hospital with transplantation license, myths and facts and how to safeguard from scams.
Mr Ganesh, engaged the students with a movie related quiz program on organ donation and students enjoyed participating in it. A signature campaign was organized and students extended their support towards organ donation by affixing their signatures. Totally 76 members participated and 54 picked up donor cards.
