  On 18^th January 2023, MOHAN Foundation was invited by Mrs. Anjumann, NSS Program Officer to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation for their NSS volunteers.  Around 80 students attended the session.

   

  Ms. Neha Sharma addressed the audience telling them about how important is organ donation and it provides the opportunity to improve the quality of life and save lives of others. It is the greatest gift one can ever give.

   

  Ms. Neha Sharma Katoch began the session by explaining the full form of MOHAN. She informed the audience that MOHAN is not someone’s name but an acronym. She explained the basic concepts of organ donation and transplantation with the help of a simple PowerPoint presentation.

  • Organs that can be donated during life and after death
  • The transplant waiting list in India
  • Brain death
  • Difference between brain death and coma
  • Contraindications to organ donation
  • Transplant Law

  • Eye Donation

   

  The Session was very interactive where students enthusiastically asked many questions. All the questions were answered after the presentation. The entire group got motivated and convinced to support organ donation. 2 Teachers & 7 NSS volunteers pledged for Organ Donation. They would love to share their wish with their families and also respect for the body after death.
