On May 15, 2026, an organ donation awareness session was conducted at Orchid Hospital, where 23 patients and their attendants actively participated. The main objective of the session was to educate people about the importance of organ and tissue donation and to clear common doubts related to the donation process and registration procedures.
During the session, participants showed keen interest and asked several important questions. One of the key questions raised was: “How can we register ourselves on the NOTTO website?” The facilitator explained the step-by-step process of registration on the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO) portal. It was clarified that individuals can visit the official NOTTO website, fill in the donor pledge form, and submit basic personal details to complete the registration. Participants were also informed that after successful registration, they receive a donor card, which reflects their willingness to donate organs in the future.
To make the session more engaging and impactful, real-life hero stories of organ donors and recipients were shared and enacted. These stories helped participants emotionally connect with the concept of organ donation and understand how a single donor can save multiple lives.
