On 23rd September, 2013 an awareness session on organ donation was conducted at the University of Panjab, Chandigarh. The session was organised for the postgraduate students from first and second year at the Department of Social Work.
Dr. Monica Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, Panjab University took the initiative to organise the programme. Mr. Sudhir Dewan, Director, MOHAN Foundation, Chandigarh conducted the session. The talk evoked a positive response from the students. Few students expressed interest in doing their field work assignment at the Foundation.
Mr. Sunny Mehta, a second year Masters of Social Work (MSW) student and also General Secretary, University Student Council, Panjab University said he would like to organise similar awareness sessions on organ donation at the other departments in the University.
