Awareness Session on Organ Donation at Churches of North India, Nagpur

  • On August 2, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur, was invited by Mr. Mozes Gour, NCCI Coordinator, to conduct an awareness session on organ donation during a workshop on discipleship and witnessing organized by the Churches of North India at the CNI Programme Hall, Nagpur.

    The session was facilitated by Dr. Jahagirdar, Plastic Surgeon, Ms. Veena Wathore and Ms. Neha Sailwar from MOHAN Foundation.

    The program commenced with an address by Dr. Jahagirdar, who emphasized the significance of organ donation in saving lives. This was followed by a comprehensive led by Ms. Veena Wathore, covering essential aspects of organ donation, including its importance, common myths and misconceptions and the transformative impact it has on recipients and their families. She also explained the online trainings available at MOHAN Foundation website.

    An interactive Q&A session concluded the program, where participants raised insightful questions regarding the donation process, the role of family consent and the legal framework surrounding organ donation.

    The session witnessed active participation and keen engagement from the audience. As a result, 13 individuals came forward to pledge their organs. To enhance outreach, MOHAN Foundation brochures were also distributed among attendees.

    The session was attended by around 40 participants and proved to be highly impactful in creating awareness and inspiring pledges for the noble cause of organ donation.

    MOHAN Foundation is sincererly acknowledge the support of the CNI Programme Hall for organizing this session and providing a platform to connect with more individuals. This engagement marks another step forward in the Foundation's mission to promote informed choices and foster a culture of donation through education and open dialogue.
