On May 12, 2026, MOHAN Foundation conducted an organ donation awareness session at Orchid Hospital, Ranchi, to educate patients and their attendants about the importance of organ donation. A total of 25 participants, including patients and their attendants, attended the session.
The session aimed to raise awareness about organ donation and encourage people to understand how donating organs can help save lives. During the session, participants were informed about the need for organ donation in India and how one donor can save multiple lives through organ and tissue donation.
The awareness session was facilitated by Mr. Mukesh Kumar Singh, who explained the concept of organ donation in a simple and interactive manner. He shared information on different types of organ donation, including living donation and deceased donation. He also explained the importance of timely consent, the role of family members, and the process involved in pledging to become an organ donor.
Participants listened with interest and actively engaged during the session. Many asked questions related to organ donation, including who can become a donor, which organs can be donated, and how the donation process takes place after death. Their doubts were addressed clearly, helping them better understand the subject.
IEC materials were also used during the session to make the discussion more informative and easier to understand. The session helped spread awareness among the participants and encouraged them to develop a positive attitude toward organ donation.
The program concluded with a message encouraging everyone to discuss organ donation with their families and support the cause of giving life through organ donation.
