Awareness Session on Eye Donation Conducted at Rural Hospital Palghar

  • On 11 May 2026, an eye donation awareness session was successfully conducted at Rural Hospital Palghar, District Palghar. The session was attended by approximately 50 participants, including hospital visitors, patients, caregivers, and members of the local community.

    The session was conducted by Mr. Ravi Pawar from MOHAN Foundation with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of eye donation and its role in restoring vision for individuals suffering from corneal blindness. Participants were provided with detailed information regarding the eye donation process, eligibility criteria, and the importance of timely eye donation after death.

    During the session, key topics such as the benefits of eye donation, myths and misconceptions, and the procedure followed for corneal retrieval and transplantation were discussed in detail. Participants were informed that eye donation is a noble act that can provide the gift of sight to visually impaired individuals and significantly improve their quality of life.

    The session also encouraged interactive participation, where attendees asked questions and clarified their doubts regarding eye donation. The participants showed keen interest in understanding how eye donation can help address preventable corneal blindness and contribute to society.
