On February 24, 2025, an informative and engaging Organ Donation Awareness Session was held at the RTO office in Wadala, Mumbai, with 250 attendees. The session, led by Ms. Sakshi, aimed to educate the public on the importance of organ donation and the life-saving impact it can have. Ms. Sakshi covered key topics, including the eligibility for organ donation, the types of organs that can be donated, and the legal aspects of the process. She also explained the simple steps involved in pledging one's organs, emphasizing how each donation can make a difference in saving lives. Throughout the session, attendees were encouraged to ask questions and clear any misconceptions, which Ms. Sakshi addressed thoroughly and thoughtfully.
In addition to the general awareness about organ donation, Ms. Sakshi highlighted a significant initiative: the inclusion of a question about organ donation in the online driving license exam. She informed the attendees that when they take the online test for their driver's license, they are now asked whether they would like to pledge their organs. This initiative helps raise awareness at a crucial touchpoint for many individuals. The session proved to be a valuable platform for educating a large audience, leaving them with a greater understanding of the importance of organ donation and how they can contribute to this life-saving cause.
