On July 14, 2026, MOHAN Foundation organized an awareness program on organ donation at Nandanagar Higher Secondary School, West Tripura. The program aimed to create awareness among students regarding the importance of organ donation, the need for transplantation, and the role individuals can play in saving lives through organ donation.
The session was conducted by Ms. Nipa Modak, and Mr. Biswajit Debbarma, Program Executives of MOHAN Foundation, Tripura.
The program began with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of spreading awareness on organ donation. Students from the humanities stream of sections A and B of class XII, the Assistant Headmistress, and 4 teachers participated in the program.
The participants were informed about living and deceased donation, and about the organs and tissues that can be donated. The discussion also focused on the increasing need for organ donors in India and how one donor can save multiple lives.
Interactive discussions were held throughout the program, where students actively participated by asking questions and sharing their thoughts on the topic.
Mr. Biswajit Debbarma distributed Informational leaflets on organ donation to all the participants to enhance their understanding of the concept. Close to 87 students, along with 4 teachers and the Headmistress, attended the awareness program.
