

On October 15, 2025, MOHAN Foundation organized an awareness program on organ donation at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital Road, Kunjaban, Agartala, Tripura (West). The session was conducted for the first-year students of the college.
Mr. Vincent Debbarma (Project Lead, Tripura) and Ms. Nipa Modak (Program Executive, Tripura) represented MOHAN Foundation, Tripura.
The program began with a welcome address by the Principal of DIET College, who emphasized the importance of conducting awareness programs on sensitive and vital topics such as organ donation.
The session on organ donation was conducted by Mr. Vincent, who explained the concept and significance of organ donation, the different types of donors, and the organs and tissues that can be donated. He also clarified the difference between brain death and coma, highlighted the importance of corneal donation, and outlined key provisions of the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, 1994. Informational leaflets on organ donation were distributed among the participants.
The session concluded with active participation and engagement from the attendees. In total, 120 participants took part in the program.
