On November 19, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, Tripura, conducted an organ donation awareness program at Agartala Government Nursing College (AGNC), Dhaleswar, West Tripura. The initiative, organized in collaboration with the Principal of AGNC, aimed to educate students on the significance and life-saving impact of organ donation.
MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mr. Vincent Debbarma (Project Lead, Tripura) and Ms. Nipa Modak (Program Executive). The State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) was represented by Dr. Manirul Islam, Nodal Officer, SOTTO Tripura.
The program began at 2:00 PM with a welcome address by the Principal.
Dr. Manirul delivered the first session, highlighting SOTTO’s role in organ donation and transplantation, along with insights into kidney transplant activities at Agartala Government Medical College & Govind Ballabh Pant (AGMC & GBP) Hospital.
This was followed by a session from Ms. Nipa Modak, who introduced the mission and work of MOHAN Foundation, including its nationwide awareness campaigns, community outreach programs, training for healthcare professionals, and efforts to promote donor pledges through donor cards and online registries.
Informational leaflets were distributed to reinforce key messages. An interactive Q&A session, led by Mr. Vincent, allowed students to clarify their doubts and gain a better understanding of the organ donation process.
A total of 103 students attended the program. The event successfully underscored the need for awareness, individual responsibility, and collective effort in promoting organ donation and saving lives.
