On June 30, 2026, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness programme on organ donation and transplantation at Bhagat Singh Youth Hostel for the NCC cadets of 13 Tripura Battalion, Agartala. The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness among the youth about the importance of organ donation and its life-saving impact on patients suffering from end-stage organ failure.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Colonel N.S. Baath, Commanding Officer NCC, who welcomed the MOHAN Foundation team and appreciated their efforts in promoting awareness on organ donation among the younger generation. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in inspiring cadets to become responsible citizens and advocates for this noble cause.
The awareness session was inaugurated by Mr. Vincent Debbarma, Project Lead, MOHAN Foundation, Tripura. During his presentation, the mission and vision of MOHAN Foundation was shared and its role in promoting deceased organ donation across the country was highlighted. He also spoke about the organization's continuous efforts to educate the public, support donor families, and encourage individuals to pledge their organs, thereby giving hope to thousands of patients awaiting life-saving transplants. The session covered the concepts of organ donation, the organ transplantation process, eligibility for donation, and clarified common myths and misconceptions surrounding organ donation.
The programme received valuable support from Mr. Biswajit Debbarma, and Ms. Nipa Modak, Program Executives, MOHAN Foundation, Tripura, who assisted in the smooth coordination and successful conduct of the session. They distributed leaflets to all the participants.
The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of approximately 580 NCC cadets, 10 Associate NCC officers (ANOs) and 15 Army personnel. The interactive session encouraged participants to ask questions and gain a better understanding of organ donation and transplantation.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Commanding Officer, NCC officials, participants, and the MOHAN Foundation team for their support and contribution in making the awareness programme meaningful and successful.
