Avadi PRS organizes an Organ Donation Talk For the Police Officers of Thiruvallur District

  • On 25th June 2015 MOHAN Foundation was invited to conduct a talk on Role of Investigating Officer in Brain Death and Organ Donation. The training was attended by SHOs and Inspectors of police station within Thiruvallur Districts under the Avadi Police Recruitment School (PRS).  The aim of the programme was to make them understand the concept of organ donation and their role in the case of multi organ donation. The talk was given in the campus of the Police Training College, Ashok Nagar.


    Ms. A. T. Sunitha Transplant Coordinator MOHAN Foundation explained the Concept of Organ Donation, The Transplantation of Human Organs Act, difference between Cardiac death, Brain Death and Coma, Case Studies and also about MOHAN Foundation


    Mr. Prakash. K Transplant Coordinator explained the protocol followed during a MLC Organ Donation and Case discussion in Government Hospital. He highlighted the need for swift work because the donor is very unstable. He spoke about the special circular that allows the local hospital outpost to start the inquest till they arrive.

     

    Totally 42 Police officials attended the talk and all were ready to help out when they get a call about inquest for organ donation case. Finally Ms. Sunitha thanked the Police Officers for the support and cooperation.
