An interactive session organized by MOHAN Foundation for NCC batch III & IV cadets Jalahalli East ETI Bengaluru

  • On 19th September 2022, MOHAN Foundation conducted an interactive session for the NCC batch 3 & 4 cadets during combined annual training camp at ETI Airforce Station, Jalahalli East Bengaluru. Mr Marulappa organized the session with the help of NCC officer Mr. Srinivasan. MOHAN Foundation was represented by Mr. Marulappa and Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS

    Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS initiated the session and by introducing MOHAN foundation kept the audience engaged throughout the session. The following concepts were discussed in detail:

    • Importance and need for donation,
    • Eligibility for Organ Donation
    • Concepts of brain stem death and circulatory death
    • Common myths that prevalent in the society
    • Jeevasarthakathe and  its functions
    • The importance of a donor card.

    Close to 750 NCC cadets attended and supported the cause and pledged to donate organs.

    Mrs. Ranjini Shankar and Mr. Marulappa reiterated the importance of awareness as a key factor to increase organ donation rates in the city and hence in an attempt to spread awareness she requested the faculty of Airforce Management for an essay writing and drawing competition with the theme of organ donation to spread the message. The faculty was extremely supportive and hence agreed for the same on 19th September 2022.

    The NCC students enthusiastically participated in the essay writing competition and wrote several heart touching stories on the cause. The drawing competition was also well received and several students portrayed their talent through innovative drawings.

    Around 680 NCC cadets participated in drawing competition.

    Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS thanked all the cadets for their sportive participation.

    She also thanked the Capt. V Sunil for supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
