A webinar on Sensitization about Organ Donation conducted for Bhola School and MES College, Nagpur

  • On 1st March 2022, MOHAN Foundation in association with Transplants – Help The Poor Foundation conducted a webinar on organ donation with Bhola School and MES College, Nagpur. Mrs. Ekta Pardesi, the principal of this college organized this webinar for teaching and non-teaching staff of Bhola School and MES College through Zoom Platform.

    Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi was the speaker for the day. She introduced MOHAN Foundation and its activities and provided information about the below topics:

    1. What is organ donation?
    2. Who requires an organ transplant?
    3. Types of death? Brain death and Circulatory death
    4. Which are the organs and tissues that can be donated after brain death?
    5. A video was displayed and the concept of brain death was explained to the participants.
    6. Myths and facts about organ donation was explained.

     

    The following were the questions asked by the participants:

     

    1. How are organs allocated?
    2. Is organ transplantation done in government hospitals?

     

    Participants actively participated in the session, they expressed their views and opinions about organ donation. The session motivated 118 participants to pledge their organs. Around 237 participants participated in the event.

    We thank Ekta Pardesi, the principal of MES College, Nagpur for organizing this session and supporting the noble cause of organ donation.
