Giving people the ultimate gift of life on 10th July 2011was Tamil Nadu’s 200th deceased organ donor . From October 2008 till date, 1150 organs and tissues have been donated thanks to these 200 deceased donors. This works out to an average of five organs /tissues per donor. There has been 88% utilization of liver and 93% of kidneys so far. Around 70% of the deceased organ donations from various hospitals have been facilitated by transplant coordinators/counsellors trained by MOHAN Foundation.
