Vallabh Kalyan Srinivas alias Tinku is an eighteen year old Diploma student. On 8th December 2011, after finishing his exam, he was returning to Hyderabad. Unfortunately, he met with an accident near Lallaguda and sustained with severe head injury. Immediately, his friends rushed him to Whitus Plus Hospital, Habsiguda. He was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit and put on ventilator. The doctors in the ICU did everything possible to save him. Sadly, he was declared “brain dead” on 9th December.
Tinku’s father, Sri. Vallabh Venkateswara Rao, is an Advocate in High Court. His close friend Mr. Syed Abdullah suggested him that Tinku’s organs can continue to live on in several others. Tinku’s friends and brother unanimously agreed to the thought and discussed with his mother Smt. Savitri. Even though she was in a shock, she agreed for oragn donation. She mentioned that even though their lovable son Tinku is not with them, they can see him in seven Tinkus”.
Tinku’s liver, kidneys, heart valves and eyes were retrieved on 9th December and transplanted to the needy patients immediately. This is the 18th multi organ donation in 2011 and sofar 124 multi organ donations were facilitated by MOHAN Foundation, Andhra Pradesh.
