  Mr. Sharad Jighkar, Regional Transport Officer, Giripeth, Nagpur invited MOHAN foundation to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers in his training hall on 26 December 2017. This was for drivers who apply for vehicle registration and driving license.

  Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ Donation. In his talk he explained for following points:-

  v  What is Organ Donation and the Law

  v  Who can donate organ & Types of organ donation

  v  Brain Death, Natural Death and Coma

  v  Myths related to Organ donation

  v  Deceased donation case in Nagpur

  v  Importance of Donor card, Helpline number and website

  It was a very interactive session. 30 drivers were present at the talk. 3 drivers signed consent form and picked their donor cards.

  The drivers asked the following questions:-

  • Can a living donor donate organs after Brain death?
  • If death happens at home is eye donation possible?
  • Who is the right person to sign consent form at the time of organ donation?
