On 27th December 2017, Anita Hadap, Centre head coordinator at Kamgar Kalyan Kendra, Om Nagar, organized Organ Donation awareness talk for social work students. Mrs. Veena Wathore, Medical social worker of Zonal Transplant Coordination Centre, Nagpur and Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant coordinator of NGO, MOHAN Foundation, were the speakers. MOHAN Foundation a Chennai based organization has been spreading awareness on organ donation for last 20 years.
Around 40 students of various colleges having Social work department were present. Students participated actively and asked various questions and queries about cadaver organ donation and live organ donation. Mr. Bulu explain about the Types of Organ Donation, types of Deaths & information about the THO Act 1994. Mrs. Veena Wathore shared her recent experience as a Transplant co-ordinator, counselling process, creationof green corridor & the allocation of donated organs process.
Social work students of Matru Sewa Institute proposed a vote of thanks. Students of Purushottam Thote college of social work, Kumbhalkar college of Social work, Ambedkar College of Social work, Tirpude college of Social work, worked hard to organise the programme.
