MOHAN Foundation was invited for an Awareness talk by Angels of Change Volunteers of Tagore Medical College. They conducted an awareness session for 200, 2nd year students of Tagore Engineering College. Dr. Hemal Kanvinde and Mr. Siva Shankar represented MOHAN Foundation. Dr. Sree Sucharitha, Mr. Selva Kumar and Mr. S. Satish Kumar were the Angels of Change volunteers. Green ribbons were distributed to all students at the beginning of the session.
Dr. Sree Sucharitha gave a small introduction about MOHAN Foundation and its activities to the participants and gave a small brief on Organ Donation and its need. The team started with an ice breaking connection game based on Organ Donation. Mr. Selva Kumar gave the Organ Donation Awareness Concept talk. He covered the following topics:
This was followed by a summing up Q&A session by Dr. Sree Sucharitha. She said that the students need to voice their doubts and misconception about organ donation, so that the Angels of Change can answer their queries and be more prepared. The two main hindrances were about their parents not accepting the concept and nothing in the media about the outcomes of transplants. The questions raised were perfectly answered by the team and participants got to know about this social cause.
The team conducted a small quiz which was based on the presentation and every participant answered the questions easily. All students were given information brochures and 30 students picked a donor card.
The program ended with a small speech by Dr. Hemal Kanvinde on the value of the Donor card and requested them to become volunteers or intern for this social cause.
