Patients and caretakers learn about organ donation at Super Specialty Hospital, Nagpur

  • On 21th April 2017, Super Specialty Hospital, Nagpur, invited MOHAN Foundation to speak about organ donation to the outpatients. Dr. Shrigiriwar   arranged the stall where MOHAN Foundation displayed information brochures, donor cards, standees and a banner. Mr. Bulu Behera & Ms. Kanchan Shewde Transplant coordinators managed the stall.

    Types of deaths

    What can be donated after Brain Death, after Natural Death and while living.

    How and where is waitlist of organ recipient?

    Who can donate organs and value of a donor card?

     28 patients & relatives visited the stall. After understanding about organ donation, 14 patients & relatives took consent form & 4 forms were filled and  donor cards were given to them. Others will sign consent form after discussing with their family.

    1) Where is MOHAN Foundation office in Nagpur & who is head?

    2) If patient becomes Brain death how will MOHAN Foundation know?

    3) Which patients require bone marrow transplant?
