  • As part of the Times of India Organ Donation Drive, MOHAN Foundation was invited for an organ donation awareness program at Devi Academy Senior Secondary School, Valsaravakkam on 10th August, 2017. Mr.Ruban Victor and Ms. Stina B Manjila represented the foundation.

The program started with a brief introduction about Times of India and the speakers of MOHAN Foundation. Mr. Ruban Victor explained the concepts of organ donation and brain death. He emphasised the need for organ donation and how as young students they can contribute to spread awareness about this noble cause. He also talked about the organs that can be donated and difference between brain death and coma. Around 200 students of 11th and 12th attended the program. They were very responsive to the questions and one of the students asked a query: If liver can regenerate why can’t we donate it more than once?

The presentation was followed by a quiz for the students which was conducted by Ms. Stina B Manjila. The students were asked to fill the missing letters of the words that are related to organ donation. They were very enthusiastic and answered all the questions. They were gifted with badges and bands on organ donation.

The program concluded with Vote Of Thanks by the Principal, Mrs. K. C. Umamaheshwari who thinks this message of organ donation should reach everyone. We would like to thank the Management and Principal of Devi Academy and Times of India for inviting us for the program.
