Updated on Tuesday, October 17, 2017
  • We are happy to announce that a “One Week Transplant Coordinators’ Training Programme” organised by MOHAN Foundation in collaboration with Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences (Deemed University), Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital, Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha and Zonal Transplant Coordination Center (ZTCC) Nagpur will be conducted from 20th to 24th November 2017 at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha.

The success of organ donation and transplantation depends upon good counselling and coordination by transplant coordinators. The Transplantation of Human Organs (Amendment) Act, 2011, has made Transplant Coordinator nomination mandatory before a hospital is registered as a Transplant Centre. This means there is a huge requirement of Transplant Coordinators in close to 400 Transplant centres in the country.

In order to meet the growing demand for Transplant Coordinators, MOHAN Foundation has embarked upon training programmes to suit the needs of these health care professionals. We have conducted 49 training programmes in the country and trained 1671 transplant coordinators over the past eight years (December 2009 – September 2017).
