Nagpur college celebrates World Blood Donation Day with a new cause

  • On the occasion of World Blood Donation Day, an organ donation information stall was set up at S. B. Jain Institute of Technology Management and Research, Nagpur on 14 June 2017. Dr. Salim Chavhan, Head of the Electronics Telicommucation & Electronics Engineering Department was the force behind this event. He organizes blood donation camps every year on the occasion. This year the students were given an opportunity to understand the concepts donating organs. Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator of MOHAN Foundation spoke on the occasion and also answered the questions raised by the participants. The stall displayed information brochures, donor cards, standees and a banner.  

    Information given to students: Types of death and the tissues and organ donation in case of natural death & brain death; Activities of MOHAN Foundation, helpline number &Website, organ transplant rules.

    22 students and staff visited the stall. After understanding about organ donation, 15 visitors took consent form & 3 of them signed consent form and took donor card.
