Telangana Eye, Organ, Body Donor Association (TEOBDA) requested for an exclusive presentation on organ donation to the core members of TEOBDA. The session and meeting were conducted on June 14, 2015 at MOHAN Foundation Hyderabad office.
Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram, Country Director of MOHAN Foundation explained the purpose, necessity, importance, complex issues in deceased organ donation, concept of brain death, cultural and religious barriers, THO Act and myths related to organ donation and the role played by NGOs in taking forward organ donation in India.
There were about 30 participants that participated and all of them were distributed donor cards and information brochures. The participants reacted positively to the idea and have promised to spread awareness about organ donation in community. The meeting concluded with felicitating Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram and release of TEOBDA book. TEOBDA members also requested for MOHAN Foundation’s cooperation as knowledge partner for TEOBDA.
