On 4th April 2021, MOHAN Foundation was invited by to conduct organ donation awareness for Youth for India, Madhya Pradesh in association with Being Samajik and Sanskritik Sanstha Jabalpur.
Dr. Jimmy Gupta held an awareness session and introduced MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and philanthropy. She introduced the concept of organ and tissue donation. She also explained the types of death viz. circulatory death and brain death and the organs and tissues that can be donated. She elaborated the procedure about bone donation which was new topic for the public. She also described that tissue donation (skin & eyes) can happen even at home which caught attention of the crowd. She then discussed about organ donations that can happen in the case of brain stem death and number of lives that can be saved by giving the examples of successful transplant stories, articles and news about green corridor. She also explained about the religious barrier and myths related to organ donation.
About 20 participants attended the awareness session. About 8 took pledge and a few pledges were filled online. She introduced about Organ Donation Ambassador Program for volunteers.
