Senior Citizens and Social Work students learn about Organ Donation in Nagpur

  • On 18th January 2020, Mrs. Shaileja Subhedar, President, Saraswati Mandir Kalyan Deaf & Dumb School in Reshmibag extended an invitation to MOHAN Foundation to organize an awareness event on organ donation. The audience was senior citizen members of Saraswati Mandir senior citizen office and students of Tripude Collge of Social Work. The session was organized at the Saraswati Mandir senior citizen office and 35 people were in attendance.

    Mrs. Shubada Sadhu, Joint Secretary of Saraswati Mandir briefed about organ donation and also introduced Dr. Ravi Wankhede of MOHAN Foundation to the audience. Besides Dr. Wankhede, Mrs. Subedhar and Mrs. Sadhu, Dr. Vibhavari Dani - President of ZTCC, Mrs. Veena Wathore Transplant Coordinator of ZTCC and Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator – MOHAN Foundation were present at the event as well.

    Dr. Ravi Wankhede explained the following points in detail:

    • What is natural death and brain death?
    • What is the eye donation process?
    • What is the body donation process?
    • Causes of brain death
    • Role of ZTCC in organ donation
    • MOHAN Foundation activities 
    • Using the Foundation’s website and help line number

    • What is Natural death?

    Six participants registered as organ donors. Mrs. Shubada Sadhu delivered the vote of thanks. MOHAN Foundation is thankful for the opportunity.
