On July 17, 2026, MOHAN Foundation, in collaboration with Lions Club Rishikesh Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, organized the second in a series of school-based organ donation awareness initiatives through poster and rangoli making competitions. The programme was held at Saraswati Vidya Mandir Inter College, Rishikesh, at the invitation of the Principal, Mr. Umakant Sant.
The programme was attended by Mr. Arun Sharma, Program Executive, MOHAN Foundation, Uttarakhand, and was joined by Mr. Kamal Kalra, Secretary, Lions Club Rishikesh, and Mr. Navdeep Nanglia, Member, Lions Club Rishikesh.
The poster-making competition was conducted in the school auditorium and witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 12 students, while the rangoli-making competition was organized in the school gallery with the participation of 28 students. Through their creative artwork, the students effectively conveyed the importance of organ, tissue, and eye donation. Many participants illustrated how a single organ donor can save multiple lives and portrayed organ donation as the "Gift of Life."
Following the competitions, Mr. Arun Sharma, conducted a brief awareness session on organ donation for the students. He highlighted the importance of organ, tissue, and eye donation, explaining how one donor can save multiple lives, and encouraged students to discuss the concept of organ donation with their families.
The top three entries in both competitions were recognized with prizes and certificates in appreciation of their creativity and understanding of the cause. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Umakant Sant, Principal, who expressed his appreciation to MOHAN Foundation, Lions Club Rishikesh, and the participating students for supporting the initiative.
The programme provided students with a creative platform to engage with the life-saving message of organ donation while inspiring them to become young ambassadors for the cause.
Approximately 40 students participated in the poster and rangoli competitions, and around 400 students attended the awareness session.
