On August 28, 2025, MOHAN Foundation, in collaboration with Lions Club Rishikesh Devbhoomi, organized the first in a series of organ donation awareness programs through poster-making competitions in schools. This initiative marks the beginning of a broader effort to conduct similar activities across educational institutions, with the aim of sensitizing young minds and inspiring them to support the noble cause of organ and tissue donation. The inaugural event was held at Bhagwati Devi Purnanand Saraswati Shishu Mandir, Maharashtra Nivas, Rishikesh. The event was held at the invitation of Ms. Anita Reyal, Principal of the school.
The competition took place on the school’s main lawn, where 48 enthusiastic students from Class 8 participated. The top three entries were recognized with cash prizes and certificates. The activity served as a creative platform for students to showcase their understanding of the importance of organ and tissue donation.
During the program, Mr. Gopal Narang, Charter President of Lions Club Rishikesh Devbhoomi, educated the students about common dangers to the eyes and preventive measures. He emphasized that even a small act of negligence can lead to loss of vision.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Anita Reyal, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to the organizers, the speaker, and all participants for their active involvement and support.
The awareness initiative proved impactful, reaching approximately 60 participants in its first edition.
