Orientation on Organ Donation was conducted at Stella Maris College for Social work students, both MSW & BSW. The Transplant Coordinator Ms.Veena from MOHAN Foundation made a presentation on Organ Donation Concepts, Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994 and also shared Donor stories. The students were extremely moved by the donor story and came forward to support the cause by pledging a Donor Card.
The Department of Social Work was so inspired by the presentation that they organized the same orientation program for students who came to attend the general elective paper the same afternoon. During this session one of the students shared how her grandfather suffered due to kidney failure. All these real stories of pain and hope motivated the students to support organ donation cause.
100 students pledged for the donor card and few picked more cards for their family.
