On 20th Aug 2021, MOHAN Foundation was invited by B.J. GMC Sassoon General Hospital, Pune for conducting awareness about Organ Donation among the general public through informative Desk as the closing ceremony of World Organ Donation Week celebration. Organ Donation themed play was also enacted near the stall for more public engagement.
Mr Jagdish Borude along with Dr. Kalpana Kamble, Principal of Nursing College organised this play along with nursing students to promote the cause of Organ Donation.
Mr Jagdish Borude had given talk on importance of organ donation, Difference between the cardiac death and brain death, organs to be donated after cardiac death and brain death, the time required for organ donation etc. after the play was enacted. He then addressed about the myths about Organ Donation public has & how we can debunk them by illustrating the real facts about Organ Donation. Also they were invited to join in our volunteering program. Details of Organ Donation Helpline No. 18001037100 was also shared.
Dr. Kalpana also shared her views about organ donation. About 350 participants including nursing students and general public attended the awareness session. About 60 pledges were taken and few were taken online. We thank Kalpana Kamble and B.J. GMC Sassoon General Hospital, Pune for inviting us and supporting the cause of Organ Donation.
