For the purpose of promoting Organ Donation in Kota, Rajasthan on 13th April 2018, MOHAN Foundation Jaipur Citizen Forum (MFJCF) and Eternal Hospital Jaipur organized a workshop on Organ Donation and Brain Stem Death under the direction of RNOS Nodal Officer Dr. Manish Sharma, at Government Medical College, Kota.
The program was presided over by Dr. Girish Verma, Controller and Principal, Kota Medical College and Shri Rohit Gupta, District Collector was the chief guest at the program. More than 300 doctors and paramedical members participated in this program.
The program's founder Mr. Virjesh Shah (Superintendent, Eternal Hospital) invited dignitaries to come to the stage and presented them with a floral bouquet and duly started the program.
Dr. Manish Sharma, Nodal Officer, highlighted the concepts of brain death and the position of organ donation in Rajasthan, as well as heart disease specialist Dr. Akshay Sharma of Eternal Hospital, Jaipur, delivered his presentation on optimization and necessary precautions to keep donor organs in optimal condition for transplant.
The awareness efforts being made in Rajasthan by the MFJCF were thoroughly appreciated. MFJCF team also shared the various programs and upcoming events being run by the institution. In his session, he also covered in brief about the precautions and technicalities of Grief Counseling.
The Collector Shri Rohit Gupta described this kind of activity as philanthropy; he said that the design of a donor memorial calendar is a priceless effort of the institution for awareness.
The Principal Dr. Girish Verma, urged MFJCF to run more and more awareness programs in Kota city and also assured that soon the Medical College Kota is going to start its Kidney Transplant Center.
In the end, Shri Virjesh Shah (Superintendent, Eternal Hospital), gave thanks to all the attendees and promised to give full support to organ transplant programs of Kota in future.
