On 27 June 2026, Ambassador Dr. Subash Chandra Sarangi conducted a Session titled "Organ Donation – A Conscious Act of Life Beyond Life" at VK-AICYAM, Bhubaneswar. The interactive technical session (Vimarsh) aimed to promote informed discussions on organ donation and inspire participants to become advocates for this life-saving humanitarian cause.
Around 40 participants from diverse backgrounds attended the session and actively engaged in the discussions. The session covered the medical, legal, ethical, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of organ donation. Key topics included the Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act (THOTA), the concept of brain-stem death, living and deceased organ donation, common myths and misconceptions, and the importance of public awareness in addressing the gap between the demand for and availability of organs.
The program featured lively interactions, with participants asking insightful questions and sharing their perspectives. As a practical demonstration, the MOHAN Foundation website was introduced, and participants were guided through the online organ pledge process step-by-step. The website link was shared with all attendees, encouraging them to register as organ donors and spread awareness within their families, friends, and communities.
The educational resources and guidance provided by MOHAN Foundation greatly enriched the session and were highly appreciated by the participants. The program concluded with a heartfelt appreciation of MOHAN Foundation's pioneering efforts in promoting organ donation awareness across India and a renewed commitment to supporting this noble cause through future awareness initiatives.
