Organ Donation Awareness for Teachers

  • On October 9, 2025, during an interschool competition organized at Soka Ikeda College of Arts and Science for Women, the MSW Department took the initiative to mobilize teachers from various schools to participate in an awareness session on organ donation.

    The session began with a warm welcome address by Ms. Sandhiya. M, Intern, Soka Ikeda College, followed by the screening of the short film “Donor” directed by A. L. Vijay.

    Mr. Ganesh C., Senior Executive, MOHAN Foundation, commenced the session by engaging the audience and gathering their views on organ donation. He then introduced the MOHAN Foundation and elaborated on its mission and activities.

    Mr. Ganesh covered several key topics, including:

    • Concept of organ donation
    • Types of donations
    • Brain death
    • Registering as a donor
    • Myths and facts
    • Safeguarding against scams
    • Government schemes related to organ donation

    He concluded the session by highlighting the importance and utility of the organ donation helpline (1800 103 7100).

    A total of 58 teachers participated in the session. The participants were highly interactive, clarified their doubts, and six of them pledged their organs by picking up donor cards.

    MOHAN Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to the management and the MSW Department of Soka Ikeda College for the opportunity and their support in organizing the program.
