S.D.N.B college, Chrompet had the inaugural function of SPEF (Students’ Participation and Empowerment Forum)- a forum for the Social Work Students on 2nd August 2010 . As part of the inaugural ceremony, the social work department invited MOHAN Foundation for an awareness talk on “Organ Donation and Transplantation”. The Chief Guest - Mrs. Seetha Lakshmi, HOD, Dept. of Plant Biology, S.D.N.B college spoke about the necessitate of organ donation. She also presented a fascinating and motivating Tamil poetry on “organ Donation”. Ms. Veena and Ms. Sujatha, Transplant Coordinators from MOHAN Foundation delivered the presentation on Organ Donation and shared their experience in coordinating organ donation process at Government General Hospital. Apart from social work students, around 150 students from NCC took part in the awareness programme and supported the noble cause by pledging for a “Donor card”. They also promised to contribute for this cause by taking this message to the society.
