MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness programme on 14th January 2020, on the concepts of Organ Donation at an NGO in Porompat, Imphal East. The 1-hour session was attended by 14 people.
Roma Devi the Transplant Coordinator of the Foundation, explained the concepts of organ donation and transplantation in detail. She also spoke about the importance of organ donation and how organ donation is done in the hospitals. The difference between circulatory death or cardiac death and brain death was explained as well.
In the Q&A segment, some of the participants asked about the process of organ donation and how it will happen and also about donating tissues. Information about donor card and pledging one’s organs was also shared. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to the NGO for the opportunity.
