  The Rotary club of Madras, Vadapalani invited MOHAN Foundation for an awareness programme on organ donation at Pallava hospital on 11^th December 2011. Ms.Jessi and Mr.Vijay, Transplant Coordinators gave a presentation on organ donation. The audience were sensitized on the concept of organ donation, brain death, importance in following traffic rules, who can donate organs, what are the organs that can be donated after cardiac death and brain death.

   

  The importance of carrying a “Donor Card” was explained and 18 of them decided to pledge for organ donation after the session. There were many queries on

   

  *How to register for whole body donation?

   

  *On what criteria a patient on the waitlist will get an organ immediately?

   

  *What should one do if he/she is interested in donating organs?

   

  The enthusiastic Rotarians supported the noble cause by purchasing MOHAN Foundation mugs and ensured that they will volunteer to MOHAN Foundation.
