    MOHAN Foundation successfully conducted a six-week online course on Transplant Coordination Professional Certificate between August 1, 2023 and September 12, 2023. 78 participants from India and Ghana enrolled for the course (participants represented various Indian states including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal).

     

    Participants were given access to https://el.mohanfoundation.org/, the e-learning platform where they could access study materials and course-related resources. Online assignments and assessments played a significant role in the course design, enabling participants to advance their knowledge.

     

    Weekly interactive webinars featuring subject matter experts in organ donation and transplantation were a part of the training and the participants were given the opportunity to interact with the speakers during the webinar.  

     

    The webinars focused on essential topics related to:

    • Concepts of organ donation and transplantation
    • Transplantation of Human Organs Act and its provisions
    • Brainstem death - Concept, identification and certification
    • Role of donor coordinators in both deceased and living donor transplant programme
    • Ethical aspects of organ donation and transplantation
    • Counselling grieving families and approaching them for organ donation

    An online examination was conducted on September 13, 2023 and the candidates who fulfilled the course requirements were issued course completion certificate.
