One week Transplant Coordinators' Training Program at Visakhapatnam

  • As part of the one week transplant coordinators' training program, three days of didactic and role play sessions were held between 12th and 14th December, 2011, at L.V. Prasad Eye Institute at L.V. Prasad Eye Institute, Visakhapatnam.  Critical care nurses, Physician Assistants, social workers and Administrators from Lazarus Hospital, Care Hospital, Apollo Hospital, Queen's NRI Hospital, Manipal Hospital and other social workers interested in the cause of organ donation participated extremely enthusiastically.  

     

    Expert faculty included Dr. Mohan Maharaj, Dr. Kalyan Chakravarthy, Dr. Nehru, Dr. A.V.N. Chetty and Dr. Siva Prasad.  Inhouse faculty from MOHAN Foundation included Dr. Sumana Navin, Mr. Raghuram and Mrs. Lalitha Raghuram.  

     

    On 14th, each of the participants wrote a test that covered all aspects of organ donation and transplantation.  All participants have been asked to conduct a survey on organ donation and submit their project by end of December, 2011.
