One Week Transplant Coordinators’ Training Program in Kochi, Kerala

Updated on Saturday, June 18, 2016
  • Kerala Network for Organ Sharing (KNOS), in collaboration with MOHAN Foundation and Aster Medcity, will be conducting a “One Week Transplant Coordinators’ Training Program” from July 18th – 22nd, 2016 in Kochi, Kerala.

    About the program

The success of organ donation and transplantation depends upon good counseling and coordination by transplant coordinators. The Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act, 2011, has made Transplant Coordinator nomination mandatory before a hospital is registered as a Transplant Centre. This means there is a huge requirement for Transplant Coordinators in close to 400 Transplant Centres in the country.

In order to meet the growing demand for Transplant Coordinators, MOHAN Foundation embarked upon training programs to suit the needs of this cadre of health care professionals in 2009. We have conducted 36 training programs and trained 1132 transplant coordinators so far. This will be the 37th training program and the faculty once again includes eminent and experienced professionals.

    Eligibility

We invite applications from doctors, nurses, social workers, patient coordinators, dialysis technicians, PR managers, hospital administrators, psychologists, sociologists and public health professionals to avail this unique opportunity.

Certificate of the Training program will be given to candidates who attend the entire program, and pass the written test, which will be conducted on the last day.
