On 28th December 2019, Rotary Club of Bombay, Chembur West held a music gala evening, at Sivaswamy Auditorium, The Fine Arts Society, Chembur, where they impressed upon the audience, the importance and concepts of organ donation along with MOHAN Foundation.
The evening's songs were based on veteran Actress Vyjayantimala's films, presented by The Tuning Folks, a band of doctors who come together for specific causes.
Rotarian, Dr Sivaramakrishnan addressed the 1100 plus crowd and sensitized them about various concepts of eye, skin and organ donation. Thereafter, Mrs Jaya Jairam spoke about the importance of organ donation and how her own life was saved by her mother donating her own kidney to her. Some of the public were in tears listening to her story.
Many took the pledge to donate their organs, with Rotary Club.
