MOHAN Foundation was invited on International women’s day celebration by conducting CME on Organ Donation at IMA Chandrapur

  • On March 6, 2024 MOHAN Foundation in partnership with Women’s Doctors wing, IMA Chandrapur conducted a CME on Organ donation  to celebrate International Women’s day.Students of Vasudha Zade Nursing college, IMA Members attended this session.The Program was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by chief guest SQn. Ldr. Dr. Ravi Wankhede, Dir. MF-Nagpur guest of honour Dr. Rajendra Surpam, Vice Dean ProfessorGMC Chandrapur. Dr. Kirti Sane, President IMA, Dr. Karuna Ramteke, Chairperson women’s Doctors wing welcomed the guest & shared the importance of Organ donation inher welcome speech.

     

    MOHAN Foundation’s Nagpur branch Director Dr. Ravi Wankhede provided ‘An Overviewof Deceased Organ Tissue Donation in India’  his own experience of Live kidneydonation through PPT presentation. The following aspects of organ donation were covered: 

    • What is organ donation, and why is it important to donate organs?
    • Who can be an organ donor?
    • Explanation of live and deceased donors
    • Organs that can be donated during life and after death
    • Brain death
    • Eye donation and steps required to preserve corneas after death.
    • Transplantation of Human Organs Act, 1994
    • Myths and facts about organ donation

     

    Ms Veena Wathore, Project Manager, MOHAN Foundation answered the queries raised by audiences.Dr. Kalpana Gulwade Secretary IMA, conducted the proceedings of the program Over 300 people attended this program.
