On 17th January 2014, the family members of Justice Ravi Deshpande organized a talk on Organ Donation at Sports Club, Abhyankar Nagar, Nagpur. The occasion was the 2nd death anniversary of his late brother Shri. Jayant Krishnarao Deshpande. Several dignitaries, family members, well wishers and others were present during the talk. Dr. Ravi Wankhede, Director MOHAN Foundation Nagpur, spoke on the importance of organ donation and the pledge. He explained the meaning of brain death and types of donation.
Justice Deshpande praised Dr. Wankhede’s efforts to increase the awareness of organ donation which would help in giving a second life to the patients requiring the organs. Approximately 75 people attended the talk and 21 picked up donor card.
