On Feb 17, 2024, Akhil Bhartiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan invited Ms. Jaya Jairam to speak on 'How to counsel for Skin donation'.
Around 70 members of the community group attended the talk. Dr Shilpa Karnik of National Burns Center, Mumbai spoke on details of how skin is donated, to whom is it given, how it is retrieved and how it is stored.
Ms Jaya Jairam spoke on how one can counsel the family and ask for skin donation. She shared her experiences of counselling families and also answered many queries about skin donation. While much is known about eye donation, there is very little awareness about skin donation.
MOHAN Foundation appreciated Ms Sushila Farmania of Akhil Bhartiya Marwari Mahila Sammelan for taking up the initiative.
